Previously, the publication "Christian Vision" reported on the liquidation of Lutheran religious organizations in Belarus based on data from the Unified State Register. Now, the Kartoteka.by database, which collects information from state sources, has found information on the liquidation of eight more communities in 2024–2025. In the records of these organizations, the information is marked with a reference to the Ministry of Taxes and Duties. However, there is no information about their liquidation in the available data of the state register.
Six Lutheran communities were liquidated in the Vitebsk region. Four of them ceased to exist on the same day — December 22, 2025. These are the communities of Saints Peter and Paul and Saint Peter in Polotsk, Resurrection of Christ in Orsha, and John the Baptist in the village of Mazalava, Vitebsk district.
Two more communities operated in Vitebsk and were named after Martin Luther, but were registered under different numbers. One of them, named after Martin Luther, was liquidated on April 15, 2024, and the second — the Martin Luther community — on July 2 of the same year.
Two more cases were identified in the Gomel region. The Holy Communion community in Khoiniki was liquidated on October 13, 2025, and the Evangelical Lutheran community in Gomel — on December 31.
Thus, a total of 13 Lutheran religious organizations — two associations and 11 communities — have been identified, for which there is information about liquidation or exclusion from the register in 2024–2026. Eight communities are listed as liquidated according to data from the Ministry of Taxes and Duties. Decisions on liquidation for four more organizations were made in 2026, and one community was excluded from the Unified State Register in 2024.
As of early 2024, 24 Lutheran communities officially operated in Belarus. Now there is information about the liquidation or decisions on liquidation for ten of them, as well as the exclusion of one more from the register. Thus, almost half of the Lutheran communities that existed before the start of mandatory re-registration have already ceased operations or fallen under liquidation decisions.
