A Mysterious Trolleybus Appeared in Minsk, Requiring Two Tickets for Travel
The situation with trolleybuses No. 22, 40, and 40A is being discussed on Threads.
Passengers have noticed an unusual situation: you can ride the same trolleybus through "Kakhouskaya" without getting off, but you will still have to pay twice for the fare, writes Onliner.by.
This happens because the trolleybus route scheme has changed due to construction work. Previously, "Kakhouskaya" was a regular stop on the route, while the final stop for No. 40, for example, was DS "Karastayanavai".
Now trolleybuses go from Komarovsky Market via Bahdanovich and Kulman to "Kakhouskaya", which, according to the route passport, is considered the final stop.

After this, the same trolleybus continues its route along Shevchenko Boulevard and Vera Khoruzhaya Street.

Minsktrans, whose response was published by a Threads user, explained: at "Kakhouskaya", the route in one direction ends and the return route begins.
Therefore, if a passenger travels, for example, from Komarovsky Market to Kropotkin via "Kakhouskaya", this is considered two trips — and the fare must be paid twice.
In the comments, passengers provide other examples. One of the discussion participants recounted that on bus No. 127 from Serabranka to the railway station, she also has to pay twice: according to her, the station is not the final stop in one direction, but it is the first stop of the return route.
Others advise using a travel pass during the renovation period. In response, the author of the discussion notes that this does not solve the problem: it is unclear why, due to the route change, the trip has to be paid for twice.
Another reader shared her opinion with Onliner.
According to her, after the start of metro construction, it became more difficult for residents of Shevchenko Boulevard to get there from the side of Yakub Kolas. Now trolleybuses No. 22 and No. 40 allow you to get there without transfers, albeit on a changed route.
— "It became convenient to travel from the Kolas side — you get on trolleybus No. 22 or 40, ride through Kulman, Kakhouskaya, Shevchenko, and get off where you need. But it turns out that since Kakhouskaya is the final stop, you have to pay the fare again, even though you have already paid and only have a couple more stops to go. It seems like there's direct transport, albeit with a detour, but you pay twice, even though you're riding the same trolleybus," the girl explained.
Minsktrans explained that travel according to this scheme is temporary — after the completion of the works, trolleybuses should again follow Shevchenko Boulevard in both directions.
