Mother of Belarusian woman killed in Israel: Beauty did not bring her happiness
The mother hopes to bury her daughter in Belarus.

On Tuesday, Hanna from Gomel received a call from the Israeli consulate with terrible news: her daughter Yana, who lived in Haifa, had died. A few days prior, the woman had suspected something was wrong because her daughter suddenly stopped contacting her. According to Israeli media, Yana's husband is suspected in the death of the young Belarusian woman.
Currently, Yana's mother is handling the repatriation of her daughter's body to Belarus.
— We are receiving help from both the Israeli and Belarusian sides. I haven't been left without support, and I'm grateful to everyone for that. Perhaps if I had moved to live with my daughter back then, none of this would have happened…
— But my father fell seriously ill. And Yana and I then decided that I would stay in Gomel to look after him. My daughter often flew over and helped me with everything, — Yana's mother, Hanna, told Onliner.
According to her, she and her daughter had a very warm relationship — Yana was her mother's closest friend.
— Both of my daughters are very beautiful (Yana was the elder), but this beauty didn't bring her happiness. It all happened because of love. Jealousy is a terrible feeling, especially when it becomes pathological. This is why such tragedies occur, and as a mother, I am now in unbearable pain…
Hanna admits: when her grandson was born, she perfectly understood how difficult it would be for Yana to raise a child alone in a foreign country without the support of relatives.
— My mother helped me raise Yana in my time, and of course, I also very much wanted to help her. But, unfortunately, things turned out differently.
Hanna saw her grandson and daughter every day via video call. The boy was named Latif, which means "lovely" in Arabic.
— Hanna, is there any certainty regarding whether you will be allowed to take your grandson to Belarus?
— I cannot answer that question yet. The Israeli authorities will make the decision. Thank God, my grandson is alive, and we'll see what happens next: I'm not old yet, I can raise him. The main thing now is to resolve the issue with Yana, to bring her back to her homeland. But here, as I've said, I'm receiving a lot of help. We will bury my daughter in Belarus.
