German Foreign Minister promised to continue financing Ukraine until the end of the war
Germany will continue to provide financial assistance to Ukraine until an acceptable peace agreement with Russia is reached. This was stated by German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul in an interview with Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, writes Bild.

“Germany will support Ukraine until a responsible peace is concluded,” the minister emphasized. According to him, assistance to Kyiv is in Germany's own interests, as it is necessary to deter Russia, which Berlin considers a hostile state.
Wadephul called on his party, the CDU, to more actively explain to citizens the need for continued support for Ukraine. “We have become a bit too cautious in our argumentation,” the Foreign Minister admitted.
The minister also stated that in the long term, Russia's economic difficulties could be more serious than those of Germany and other countries supporting Kyiv. As an example, he cited the collapse of the Soviet Union, which, according to him, was also linked to a weakening economy.
At the same time, Wadephul acknowledged that aid to Ukraine requires significant funds. Money allocated for Europe's defense and security cannot simultaneously be spent on schools or roads. However, he emphasized, Germany bears a historical responsibility to support those who are under attack.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated at a meeting in Brussels that the war would cost the country 155 billion euros next year. He asked European partners to provide an additional at least 70 billion euros for the country's defense, weaponry, and resilience.
