Secretary of State of the Union State of Belarus and Russia Grigory Rapota said on June 21 that it would be easier for Belarus and Kazakhstan to join the World Trade Organization after Russia’s accession there. He says that Belarus and Kazakhstan pledged to adhere to the terms of trade with the WTO member-states within the framework of the Customs Union of the three states, including Russia.
“Negotiations on Belarus’s entry into the WTO lasted as long as in case of Russia. However they were less vigorous due to political or other circumstances. Now, after Russia's accession to the WTO, the talks might perk up a little,” said Grigory Rapota.
