"Do not let anyone call you aggressors of a neighboring country." BNR Rada Chair congratulated Belarusians on Freedom Day
Chairwoman of the Rada of the Belarusian Democratic Republic, Ivonka Survila, stated that Belarusians are a European nation and should be part of democratic Europe.

"On March 25, 1918, our people, after almost a century and a half of captivity, declared to the world that they 'cast off from their native land the last yoke of state dependence, which Russian tsars forcibly imposed on our free and independent land.' I want to remind here that our national hero Kastus Kalinouski warned our people half a century earlier that they would only live freely when there was no Muscovite over them. These words are confirmed by our history," reads the congratulation to Belarusians on Freedom Day.
According to her, it was Bolshevik Russia that drowned the independence of the Belarusian Democratic Republic in blood. "It was from Moscow that orders came to destroy the national creative and scientific elite in Kuropaty, to liquidate the industrious peasantry. The aspirations of Belarusians for freedom and independence of their land were invariably suppressed. We had to endure both physical and spiritual Chernobyl. And the short period of national revival was halted by Moscow's protégé, Lukashenka," noted Ivonka Survila.
"Unfortunately, after almost a century of occupation and cunning propaganda from that same Moscow, the world forgot about Belarusians, until our people reminded it of our existence in 2020! Only thanks to your heroism and the courage of hundreds of thousands of Belarusians who came out under white-red-white flags onto the streets of Belarus, did we revive! If Moscow had not interfered again, perhaps we would already be living in our free country. And we would not be fighting today for the liberation of thousands of political prisoners who are still behind bars in Belarus," said the Chairwoman of the BNR Rada.
According to her, Belarusians should not allow perennial enemies to mock them just because it benefits one person.
"Do not let anyone call you aggressors of a neighboring country. We are an ancient European nation, our place is in democratic Europe, and only when we become independent from the so-called 'elder brother' — only then will we take that honorable place among the civilized nations of the world, to which we have every right! I want to believe that then neither Moscow nor terror will extinguish the torch that we will carry forward in close ranks," called Ivonka Survila.
"I ask those of you who have not yet joined the struggle for the freedom and independence of the Motherland to remember that our future depends on each and every one of us. Just like our ancestors in 1918, together we will liberate our dear and charming land," added the BNR Chairwoman.
