International University Sports Federation lifted all restrictions on Belarusians
The Executive Committee of the International University Sports Federation has decided on the immediate reinstatement of participation for student-athletes with Belarusian passports in all competitions.

The decision regarding the return of Belarusians was made in accordance with the recommendations of the International Olympic Committee from May 7, 2026.
As for Russian student-athletes, the situation is more complex. The International Olympic Committee has not lifted its restrictions on older Russian athletes, but recommends that young athletes not be held responsible for the actions of their governments.
In recent weeks, Belarusian athletes are being reinstated to international competitions, from which they were suspended after the start of the full-scale war against Ukraine in February 2022.
Previously, the full restoration of rights for athletes from Belarus has already been announced by the International Modern Pentathlon Union, the World Boxing Organization, the International Volleyball Federation, United World Wrestling, the International Equestrian Federation, the World Archery Federation, and the European Gymnastics Federation.
