In Baranavichy, a woman tore her ex-husband's passport. For destroying a personal document, she could face criminal liability — up to two years of imprisonment, reports the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee.

A 34-year-old woman was in a car that previously belonged to the family, and during another conflict with her ex-husband, she intentionally tore his passport.
Some time later, the 35-year-old man found the damaged document in the car and reported it to the police. As reported by the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Brest Regional Executive Committee, the former spouses have been in conflict, arguing, and sorting out their relationship for a long time.
The police reminded that citizens' personal documents, including passports, military IDs, and driver's licenses, are protected by law. Their theft or intentional destruction can lead to criminal liability, regardless of whether it occurred during a conflict between relatives or former close people.
For theft or destruction of personal documents, according to Article 378 of the Criminal Code, public works, a fine, arrest, restriction of liberty for up to two years, or deprivation of liberty for the same period are provided.
