On October 30, Belarus Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Sakreta announced a visit to Minsk by OSCE Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioğlu. According to him, Sinirlioğlu will take part in the fourth annual Minsk International Conference on Eurasian Security, which will be held on November 3-4.

70-year-old Feridun Sinirlioğlu from Turkey has held the position of OSCE Secretary General since December 2024. His term of office is three years. He is also one of the candidates for the position of UN Secretary General.
Pavel Latushka, Deputy Head of the United Transitional Cabinet of Belarus and Head of the National Anti-Crisis Management, called this visit "illogical" and "inadequate." He expressed his opinion on his own YouTube channel, writes the "Pozirk" publication.
According to Latushka, such a visit would have been difficult to imagine during his own time as a diplomat, given the mass repressions in Belarus, the presence of political prisoners, hybrid aggression against neighboring countries, and support for the Russian war against Ukraine.
At the same time, Latushka acknowledged that diplomats should talk, and the OSCE Secretary General, as an international official, must maintain certain contacts. However, in his opinion, there is a platform for this in Vienna, where the organization's headquarters are located. He suggested that a representative of Lukashenka's authorities should come there.
Later, a message appeared on the Telegram channel of the United Transitional Cabinet that Latushka had sent a letter to Sinirlioğlu, informing him about the number of political prisoners in Belarus. He urged the Secretary General to raise the issue of releasing all political prisoners and ending the persecution of people for their political views during his visit to Minsk.
In the letter, Latushka paid special attention to regional security issues. He emphasized that Belarus should become a country that contributes to security and stability in the region. However, in his opinion, as long as Lukashenka remains in power, it is impossible to talk about reliable security guarantees.
Latushka reminded that Russia used Belarusian territory for aggression against Ukraine. In addition, the Belarusian authorities continue hybrid actions against neighboring OSCE member states and facilitate subversive activities. Therefore, the head of the NAM proposed to the Secretary General of the organization to call on the de facto Belarusian authorities to start an inclusive dialogue with civil society.
