You don't have to work Saturday, December 20, in two main cases:
- If the employee is on paid leave from December 22 to December 31. Since December 26 falls within the leave period, the employee and employer already have an agreement regarding rest on these days.
- If the employee is on sick leave on December 26. This day is considered a period of temporary incapacity for work, not a working day.
It is also possible to take a day off for previously worked hours on a weekend or public holiday, a day from paid leave, or write an application for unpaid leave for family, domestic, or other valid reasons.
