Driver killed in head-on collision in Polotsk district. His car was literally torn apart

The accident in the Polotsk district occurred today around 1 PM on the 119th kilometer of the R-20 "Vitebsk — Polotsk" highway, reports the traffic police of Vitebsk region.

A 1987-born driver, operating a Volvo truck with a Schmitz semi-trailer, lost control and veered into the oncoming lane. There he collided with a Lada car driven by a 57-year-old man.

As a result of the accident, the driver of the passenger car sustained injuries incompatible with life and died at the scene.
