Another 400 hectares of land in the Gomel region are no longer considered radioactive
About 374 hectares of land in five districts of the Gomel region have been excluded from the list of radiation-hazardous territories in the exclusion zone. The corresponding resolution was signed by Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Turchin.

The changes affect areas in the Brahin, Buda-Kashalyova, Vetka, Mazyr, and Chachersk districts. Now these lands can be used again for economic purposes. At the same time, products manufactured on them, as assured, will undergo radiation control.
The resolution comes into force on the day of its adoption.
For several years now, Belarus has been reviewing territories previously recognized as radiation-hazardous. In April 2026, more than 940 hectares of land in ten districts of the Gomel region were excluded from the exclusion zone.
At the same time, some areas in the Brahin and Vetka districts, with a total area of about 378.7 hectares, were, on the contrary, recognized as radiation-hazardous, allowing only limited economic use.
