Tour guides obliged to know state ideology and promote recognition of the uniqueness of the Belarusian model
In Belarus, new professional and ethical requirements for tour guides and guide-interpreters came into effect on October 21. They were approved by the National Tourism Agency.

In total, the list includes 22 points. Among the new duties are: to know the foundations of the ideology of the Belarusian state, approved by Lukashenka's directive dated April 9, 2025, No. 12, and to implement directions of ideological work into their professional activities.
In addition, tour guides must contribute to strengthening Belarus's positive international image and to the recognition of the unique Belarusian model of social development. During excursions, they are also obliged to comply with restrictions stipulated by Belarusian legislation.
The rules for adjusting excursion programs have also changed. If excursion services are part of a tourist package or a complex of tourist services, changing the program along the route is now only possible in agreement with the tourism entity. Previously, this required approval from the manager.
For guide-interpreters, a separate requirement has been stipulated to translate the excursion text into or from a foreign language without distorting the original meaning.
At the same time, the requirement to respect the copyright and related rights of excursion developers has been excluded from the requirements. Previously, tour guides had to prevent the appropriation of intellectual property results, and also to cite excursion developers and other authors in accordance with legislation, indicating their authorship. Now this duty is not included in the list.
