Russia has attacked the Kyiv Institute of Cardiology named after Academician Mykola Strazhesko for the second time, where people with heart diseases are treated. There are no fatalities, but one patient sustained minor injuries. He is being provided with necessary medical care. This was reported by Prime Minister of Ukraine Serhiy Koretskyi and Minister of Health Viktor Liashko, writes "Ukrainska Pravda".

As a result of the strike, an operating room located on the sixth floor of the building was destroyed.
«Medical facilities are protected by international humanitarian law. Despite this, Russia is once again attacking places where lives are saved. And it must answer for this terror,» stated Viktor Liashko.

The institute had already suffered from a Russian attack previously. On September 28, 2025, the building was damaged during a combined strike on Kyiv. The greatest damage then affected the departments on the third, fourth, and fifth floors, including the department of endocrine cardiology and dyslipidemia, as well as the department of chronic ischemic heart disease.

As a result of that attack, two people died — a patient and 50-year-old nurse Oksana Katsiarusha.
