A 44-year-old Minsk resident fell victim to internet fraud when he tried to help a friend buy a bouquet for his wife. The man transferred 230 rubles for 101 red roses, but the flowers were never delivered.

The victim contacted the Maskouski District Department of Internal Affairs in Minsk and reported that an acquaintance, who was on a foreign business trip, had messaged him. The acquaintance asked for help paying for a bouquet for his wife's birthday, as he was having problems with his bank card.
Initially, the Minsk resident refused, as he did not have spare money. Then the acquaintance proposed another option: his wife would allegedly lend the applicant 230 rubles, which he would then transfer according to the details sent by his friend.
The man received the money, transferred it to the specified details, and sent the receipt to his acquaintance. However, three days later, the acquaintance got in touch again and reported that the bouquet had still not been delivered, and the online store had stopped responding to messages.
A criminal case has been opened for fraud in connection with the incident.
