A group that helped foreigners illegally legalize their stay was uncovered in Poland. Belarusians are among the accused
As a result of a joint operation by the Polish Border Guard and police, an organized criminal group was uncovered that illegally "officially" arranged the stay of foreigners in Poland and other European Union countries.

Investigators found that from 2020 to 2024, members of the group used forged documents — including fictitious employment applications and invalid addresses of residence. In this way, they deceived state authorities and obtained Polish residence permits for foreigners.
Approximately 1,500 people from Central Asian countries, Belarus, Georgia, Turkey, and some African states could have been users of this scheme. For their "services," the organizers charged 3 to 5 thousand zloty per person.
With the help of Europol, it became known that at least 20 foreigners legalized in this manner later committed crimes in various EU countries, including operating within organized groups there.
The operation covered three regions of Poland — Mazowieckie, Łódź, and Lower Silesian. In total, 24 people were detained — citizens of Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and the Philippines. Among them are two alleged leaders of the group: a 52-year-old Pole and a 39-year-old Ukrainian.
During numerous searches, law enforcement officers confiscated phones, laptops, stamps, a large volume of documents, as well as money in various currencies (approximately 40 thousand zloty) and a passenger car valued at approximately 120 thousand zloty. All of this has been seized to secure future fines and penalties.
The prosecution charged 20 detainees with participation in an organized group. Another four were accused of acting "jointly and in agreement." They are charged with illegally assisting foreigners in obtaining the right to stay, forging documents, and providing false information. In total, about 1,500 charges have been filed in the case.
At the prosecutor's request, the court arrested two main suspects. The others were assigned lighter measures — the obligation to report to the police, a ban on leaving the country, and financial guarantees.
