Trump called Norway a "shithole" country

Because the Nobel Committee again did not award him the Nobel Peace Prize.

US President Donald Trump stated that he would welcome immigrants from some countries, but not from Norway, "because I didn't get the Nobel Prize... So I don't want anyone from Norway," writes Reuters.

"I'm not thrilled about Norway. Honestly, Norway sucks. In fact, Norway has turned into a shithole country" (in the original – shithouse country, – Editor's note), Trump said.

The agency writes that he previously used this expression in relation to Haiti, Libya, Somalia, and Yemen.

In 2026, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate was 85-year-old lawyer from South Africa, Navanethem (Nave) Pillay.
