Antennas and equipment were placed in hundreds of locations throughout the city to interfere with the remote control of Russian drones. Serhii "Flash" Beskrestnov, an advisor to the President of Ukraine on defense technologies, spoke about the operation.

In a Facebook post, Beskrestnov explained that one of the technologies allowing Russian operators to find targets and control "Shaheds" remotely is MESH radio communication. According to him, an operator can control the drone from Russian territory via a radio modem on board.
To interfere with this communication, a protective dome of electronic warfare equipment was created over Kyiv.
"The tasks were extensive and ambitious — to complete a large volume of work throughout the city in a few weeks," Beskrestnov wrote.

According to him, all major manufacturers of EW equipment were involved in the work. They produced and installed equipment around the clock.
The General Staff, Ministry of Defense, Ministry of Internal Affairs, National Security and Defense Council, Office of the President, and units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine participated in the operation.
The difficulties were not only technical: it was necessary to organize the placement of antennas and equipment in hundreds of locations throughout Kyiv.
"This operation forced the enemy to pause, modernize the 'Shaheds,' and look for other solutions," "Flash" added.
