Speaking at the Minsk Conference on Eurasian Security, Alexander Lukashenka stated that Donald Trump is preventing the start of World War III.
"Trump, with his actions, albeit contradictory, essentially keeps the world from a third world war that could erupt in a nuclear format. And this is already... You won't hide from this across the ocean," he said.
"And if escalation occurs in Ukraine itself, I say in Ukraine, not in Russia's war against Ukraine. Russia today in Ukraine is fighting practically against the entire West. We know this well. I am not repeating any Russian or anyone else's narratives. We know this well. I am well informed about this, down to the voices heard in the trenches from some Western states. Unfortunately, not only Western: there are people from Asia and Africa there. They make money on blood. If we don't stop now in Ukraine, as Trump himself suggests, it doesn't matter for what reasons, let's leave that aside for now. The difference here is small: whether for internal American political reasons, or for some other reasons," Lukashenka stated.
He called for a halt, otherwise one could certainly come to the start of World War III.
"And how will it end? Major politicians are already openly talking about this. And you won't hide from a nuclear strike across the ocean. Therefore, whether understanding this or not, realizing it or not, Trump is doing a great deed," Lukashenka stated.
Lukashenka noted that many people are now dying in Ukraine, but he would not call it a "meat grinder."
"I wouldn't say, as many journalists do, that there is a 'meat grinder' in Ukraine now. No, but many people are dying on both sides. Do we need this? No one needs this. Therefore, one must hide their pride somewhere and understand what might happen tomorrow. This is very important because it will affect Belarus and Turkey, where the war is at the fence, and Poland, and so on. And the interests that these countries, which I mentioned, have invented in their heads, can crumble within one day. War is also dangerous because the most terrible and unpredictable turns can occur," he added.
