Minsk has started testing an online water quality monitoring system. It allows tracking the situation in different parts of the city using a special map and promptly responding to possible deviations, reported by the STB TV channel.

As explained by Fyodor Rymasheuski, General Director of "Minskvodokanal", water turbidity sensors have been installed at the most important points of the water supply network. They transmit information in real time. If the indicators change, the dispatcher receives a signal and can quickly react to an unusual situation. Currently, the system is not fully operational and is still being refined.
Minsk also continues to update its water supply and sewage networks. By the end of 2026, authorities plan to replace more than 65 kilometers of communications. The work is already nearing completion.
In addition, a large-scale reconstruction of the Minsk Wastewater Treatment Plant is underway. Work is being carried out in five main directions, two of which are planned to be completed by the end of the year.
The capital has also completed the necessary preparations for the autumn-winter period. Specialists checked fire hydrants, hydraulic structures, and pumping equipment.
Special attention is paid to snow-melting points. Currently, two such facilities operate in Minsk. A third is being built on Timiryazeva Street. Construction is planned to be completed in November so that the point can be fully operational by early December.
In case of severe frosts, the capital's housing and communal services will prepare additional emergency brigades and approve duty schedules for responsible employees. Unscheduled inspections of heating systems, heating networks, and individual heating points are also provided.
Minsk has about 7.5 thousand residential buildings with centralized heating – the largest number in the country. Therefore, reliable heat supply in winter remains one of the main tasks of the city services.
