Belarus plans to introduce a unified procedure for the removal of wastewater from the private sector. This applies to homes not connected to central sewage systems and that use cesspools or other autonomous wastewater disposal systems, writes Blizko.by.

The new rules were discussed by Iryna Salivonchyk, Deputy Head of the Department of Utilities and Energy of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services, during a webinar by the National Center for Legislation and Legal Information.
Wastewater removal will be provided on a paid basis under a contract. Local authorities will publish information on their websites about the service providers operating in the respective territory, as well as their established tariffs.
It will be possible to order a sewage truck through the 115 service, and pay for the service via ERIP (Automated Information System for Payments).
A separate resolution is expected to define unified rules for using autonomous water supply and sewage systems. It is planned to set a maximum permissible filling level for cesspools.
The changes will affect a significant number of private homes. In Belarus, there are about 800,000 homes connected to central water supply but without central sewage. Annually, over 1.3 million cubic meters of wastewater are removed from them.
To make the service more affordable, local authorities will be able to determine optimal distances for wastewater transportation and reception points. Sewage trucks will, in turn, be required to discharge wastewater only at specialized stations.
The draft resolution has already undergone public discussion and is currently being reviewed in the established procedure. At present, the document is undergoing legal expertise at the Ministry of Justice.
