Three people were killed and 36 others were injured in attacks on two airports in Saudi Arabia. Reuters reports this, citing Saudi Arabian authorities.

One person died and eight others were injured at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. During the attack on facilities at Abha Airport, two people were killed and 28 were injured.

The attacks occurred on October 6 and 7. Authorities did not specify which airport was attacked on each of these days.

A representative of the Yemeni Houthis stated that the group attacked Riyadh airport with several drones.

The Saudi Arabia-led coalition vowed that the strikes "will not go unpunished," and late on the evening of October 7, it reported attacks on more than 80 Houthi military sites in four Yemeni provinces.

On the same day, Houthis attacked Aden International Airport with ballistic missiles and explosive-laden drones, Yemen's Ministry of Transport reported.

The attacks occurred amidst an intensification of hostilities between the Houthis and Yemeni government forces, who are supported by Saudi Arabia. According to the International Organization for Migration, more than 200,000 people have been forced to leave their homes since the start of the new escalation.
