For the second day in a row, bombs on planes are reported in Europe. Today – on two flights to Warsaw
In Poland, two passenger planes – from London and Copenhagen – are being checked due to reports of possible explosives. Warsaw-Modlin Airport temporarily suspended operations. The day before, due to a similar threat, a Wizz Air plane had to land in Budapest escorted by a fighter jet.
On the morning of November 3, a LOT plane flying from London Heathrow to Warsaw Chopin Airport was diverted to Modlin. There were 181 people on board the Boeing 737 MAX.
According to the Modlin administration, a bomb threat report was received at 9:54 local time. The plane landed at 10:01. It was directed to a separate stand for inspection.
Passengers were evacuated to the arrivals hall. The airport was initially completely closed, but around noon, it announced the resumption of operations: only a part of the territory remained inaccessible, writes RMF24. The plane and luggage are to be checked by sappers.
On the same day, a bomb report was also received regarding an SAS flight from Copenhagen to Warsaw. It landed at Chopin Airport, where an inspection began. This airport did not cease operations.
The day before, on November 2, a Wizz Air plane flying from London to Sofia changed its route due to a bomb threat. It landed in Budapest, escorted by a Hungarian Gripen fighter jet. After landing, the plane and passengers were checked by security services.
Thus, over two days, bomb reports affected at least three passenger flights in Europe. There was no information about the detection of explosives on board.
