A procession took place to "Navahrudak Golgotha" — the place where communists brutally tortured an Orthodox priest
On October 3, an annual cross procession took place in the Navahrudak district to the place known as "Navahrudak Golgotha." This is the place where, after the arrival of Soviet power in Western Belarus in 1939, the Orthodox Archpriest Mikalai Niadzvetski was killed, the Navahrudak church parish reports .

Before the start of the procession, a cathedral liturgy was held in the Church of the Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos in Vaŭkovičy, led by Archpriest Anatol Herasimuk, dean of the Navahrudak church district. The cross procession was attended by priests from the Navahrudak and Kareličy deaneries, pilgrims, local residents, and students from cadet classes of School No. 7 in Navahrudak.

Mikalai Niadzvetski served in Vaŭkovičy from 1921 until the very end of the interwar Polish state. After the Red Army entered Western Belarus in 1939, Niadzvetski was seized by local members of an underground party cell. He was driven through the surrounding villages, mocked, and brutally beaten. In the farmstead of Kasianava, the wounded priest was locked in a basement for two days. No one dared to come to his aid because people were afraid.

On the third day, the priest was led to a high wooded mountain where he was killed. According to the description, before his death he was brutally tortured: his ears were cut off, his eyes gouged out, his beard torn out, he was tied to a horse and dragged along the ground, and the joints of his arms and legs were broken.
Even during the tortures, according to this description, Father Mikalai prayed for his tormentors. This further enraged his executioners. They cut out the priest's tongue, then tied him up and threw him several times into a pre-dug pit until he died.
