A film about the head of Theranos, sentenced to 11 years for major fraud, will be shown in Belarus. The film is breaking all possible ratings
The film is a documentary, but it has been nominated for an "Oscar" not only in the "Best Documentary Feature" category, but also in the general "Best Picture" category, where it can compete with Nolan's "Odyssey".

On November 19, the documentary film "Seeing Everything" will be released in Belarus — one of the most discussed film premieres of the season, which received almost maximum ratings from critics and viewers. Information about this was confirmed to Onliner by a representative of the distributor "Volga".
The A24 studio film tells the story of former Theranos CEO Elizabeth Holmes, convicted of fraud. The focus is on the final weeks before Holmes began serving an 11-year prison sentence.
Shortly before her incarceration, she herself invited a film crew to her home. And journalists walked around her house with cameras.
However, during the filming, the movie transformed from a portrait of a convicted entrepreneur into a story about manipulation, trust, and the boundaries between reality and staging. The film's duration is almost three hours.
The project by directors Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim was kept secret for a long time. Filming began in 2023, and the film was first revealed only in September 2026, when it was shown at the Telluride Film Festival during a secret screening.
Viewers did not know in advance which film they would see, and before entering, they were asked to put away their phones to prevent information leaks.
Some critics are even lavish with statements that the directors literally invented a new genre and that world cinema has never seen anything like it.
After the premiere, the film caused a strong reaction. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has about 99% positive reviews, and on Metacritic — 97%.
Viewer ratings (the film "Seeing Everything" has already been released in US cinemas) are also extremely high. On IMDb, the film currently has a rating of 9.3 out of 10, and it ranks first in the list of the most popular films of 2026. On Letterboxd — 4.7 out of 5 and ninth place in the top films with the highest ratings in the service's history.
The film also had a successful start at the American box office: in its first weekend, it grossed over $18 million on a budget of $7 million. This is the best start for non-musical documentaries in the last 22 years.
A24 now intends to nominate "Seeing Everything" for an "Oscar" not only in the "Best Documentary Feature" category, but also in the main nomination — "Best Picture".
If the film makes it into the list of nominees, it will be the first such case in the history of the award. In addition, the studio plans to nominate the film in a number of technical categories, and actress Amanda Seyfried, who played Holmes in the reconstruction scenes, — in the "Best Supporting Actress" category.

In May 2023, Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes was sentenced to 11 years and 3 months in prison for fraud and deceiving investors in her blood-testing startup, which collapsed. Prosecutors had asked for 15 years.
Forbes named Holmes the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world in 2014, when she was 30 years old and her stake in Theranos was worth $4.5 billion. Theranos collapsed after a series of articles in the Wall Street Journal in 2015 questioned its technology.
Theranos was considered one of Silicon Valley's top projects of recent decades. At its peak popularity, the company was valued at $9 billion. Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos management promised a revolution in the world of medicine and the healthcare industry.
A device called "Edison" was supposed to diagnose many dangerous diseases earlier than doctors with just one drop of blood from a finger. Holmes called it "the iPod of medicine" and claimed that this device would soon be in every home.
Among Theranos's investors were the most famous US politicians and businessmen — ex-President Bill Clinton, Secretary of Education under the Trump administration Betsy DeVos, media mogul Rupert Murdoch, technology magnate Larry Ellison, and many others. The company's board of directors included former US Secretaries of State Henry Kissinger and George Shultz, as well as former Pentagon chief James Mattis.
Interest in Theranos was also shown by Joe Biden, who at the time served as Vice President in the Barack Obama administration.
