Liabiedzka responded to Harbunova: "This sounds very boorish towards the memory of those who gave their lives for change"
Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya's advisor, Anatol Liabiedzka, in a comment to "Radio Svaboda", criticized the statements of Volha Harbunova, former representative of the United Transitional Cabinet, who said that she was disappointed with the Belarusian opposition and would not want to see Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya as president of Belarus.
"For me, this sounds strange, considering that she herself worked for a certain time in the government of this very opposition. And, it seems, at that time her and my assessments of what the Belarusian regime is as a system absolutely coincided. What happened during this time is difficult to say," Liabiedzka said.
According to him, the Belarusian democratic community is very diverse, but this does not negate the fundamental difference between Lukashenka's opponents and his system.
"We are absolutely different, and that's normal. But to ignore the value differences between the regime's opponents and those who for 30 years stole elections from millions of people, turned the budget into a personal wallet, deprived everyone of any choice, started killing people... When I hear: 'I will not vote for those who are opponents,' then the choice here is small: only those close to power remain."
Liabiedzka suggested that Harbunova's current position might also mean her re-evaluation of her own participation in the events of 2020.
"Perhaps, the person came to the realization that in 2020 they needlessly took to the streets for other values, for change. I would read it that way. Perhaps it's even good that this happened, that there is an understanding: some people in 2020 found themselves in the wrong place, they regret it. And how to declare it? Well, through such strange forms."
Liabiedzka reacted particularly sharply to the criticism of the Belarusian opposition as a whole.
"This sounds very boorish to me towards the memory of Henadz Karpenka, Yury Zakharanka, Viktar Hanchar, a large number of people who are no longer alive, but who gave their health, their lives for change," said Anatol Liabiedzka.
When asked by "Radio Svaboda" to give a detailed comment on her statement, Volha Harbunova replied that she "does not want to".

А прымі народ канстытуцыю Лябедзькі, Лукашэнка і яго наменклатура аўтаматычна пазбягаюць пакарання, бо будзе адсутнічаць склад злачынства.
