"Invisible": Olga Velichko's book about wives of Belarusian political prisoners published
The book is based on conversations with women whose husbands were imprisoned for their beliefs.

Psychologist Olga Velichko's book "Invisible: Voices of Wives of Belarusian Political Prisoners" has been published. It appeared for sale at Gutenberg publishing house, writes "Belsat".
Olga Velichko's book is based on conversations with women whose husbands were imprisoned for their beliefs.
"Some of the heroines speak under their own names, like Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya, others are hidden behind pseudonyms. But in all texts, a protest is audible: against circumstances that left no choice," the book description says.
This is Olga Velichko's second book. The first one — "From Two to Fifteen. My Mother in Prison" — was born during the psychologist's work with children of political prisoners. Velichko began collecting their stories about how they experienced repression against their parents, searches in their homes, and what traumas this left on the little Belarusians.
Olga Velichko herself was sentenced in absentia in Belarus under several criminal articles to nine years of imprisonment, as well as a fine of 12,000 rubles.
Since December 2020, the psychologist has been living abroad. In Belarus, she managed a children's hospice in Hrodna. It was liquidated by decision of the Hrodna authorities.
