Scooter rider died after hitting head on tram tracks

The tragedy occurred on one of the summer nights in Minsk at the intersection of Masherau and Starazhouskaya streets.

According to eyewitnesses, an intoxicated man fell from a scooter and hit his head on the tram tracks during the fall, after which he stopped moving, reports the State Forensic Examination Committee.

Thanks to resuscitation efforts, the emergency medical team that arrived at the scene managed to restore cardiac activity. The man was hospitalized in the intensive care unit, but died seven days later without regaining consciousness.

Forensic medical examination determined that the man's death was caused by a combined blunt body trauma (multiple abrasions and bruises on the face and body, a multi-fragmented fracture of the nose and cervical vertebra, hemorrhages and spinal cord injuries), which led to a coma, the development of multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (impaired function of two or more organs), and a number of other complications.
