The beaten dog from Vitebsk, whom Lukashenka gave to Baskov, still lives with the latter
In late April 2022, a video went viral online showing a girl in Vitebsk kicking a small dog. The police later detained her. The girl was convicted under two administrative articles — cruel treatment of animals (16.29) and insubordination (23.4). And the dog, Odie, who was then one year and three months old, was taken away.

As a result, Alexander Lukashenka handed him over to hockey coach Dmitry Baskov during a training session.

Now Baskov told STB that the dog still lives with his family.

“He's like a small child — he plays, eats, sleeps, rests, has fun, children often involve him in various sports games. He already plays both hockey and football,” Baskov shared.

Baskov recently, after the end of his 5-year disqualification from the International Ice Hockey Federation, headed the supervisory board of HC "Dynamo-Minsk".
As a senator, he also develops business under Lukashenka's brand Lepshy. And together with partners, he develops Minsk and its surroundings.
Baskov was at the Square of Changes in Minsk during the attack on Roman Bondarenko in November 2020.
